How to Survive Halloween: Tiny Chefs is Here to Help!

October 28, 2025

🎃 Hello there, Tiny Chefs family and friends!

Here at Tiny Chefs, we are super excited for the last week of October; do you know why?

Because it’s finally time for Halloween, of course! 👻

Halloween is one of our favorite holidays: the decorations, the festivities, and most importantly, the candy! 🍬 All of these things mixed together make for a super sweet treat–and maybe a few fun tricks. 😜

While we do love Halloween, we know how stressful it can be trying to juggle parties, costumes, trick–or–treat events, and the regular everyday hustle and bustle. That’s why we wanted to give you some tips and tricks to get your kiddos helping out in the kitchen this Halloween season; to help ease some of the stress but also give your children a few new memories with their family!

Simple Ways Kids Can Help Prep for Party Snacks 🎉

If you are already overwhelmed with prepping for the holidays, the best thing you can do for your sanity is to keep your snacks SIMPLE! While we love a good, well-thought-out recipe at Tiny Chefs, there is a time and place for that; you are allowed to take the shortcuts sometimes! 😉

With that being said, when you are deciding what snacks to make, you should choose those that have simple ingredients and even simpler assembly. This is going to save you a big mess and time in the kitchen as well as effort because it will make helping out easier for your little ones!

Depending on what kinds of snacks your family decides to make this season, here are some great ways your kiddos can get involved in prepping those snacks with you.

Peeling or Cutting Fruit 🍌

Bananas are a no-brainer for kids! Peel, cut with a butter knife, assemble, DONE! But other fruits can also be an easy option for kids to help with. Strawberries, grapes, and even apples; apples are especially good options if you have a good apple corer! Use your imagination and you can come up with some great snack options with fruits alone!

Build Snack Mix Bags 👝

Snack mix bags are the perfect, easily assembled snack for kids to help with! Choose what snacks you want to mix together–think trail mix but your options are endless. Once you have your ingredients, your kids can scoop them into individual treat bags or large bowls, depending on how you plan to distribute the snacks, and mix!

Decorate the Classics 🧁

If you’re going with the classic cookies or cupcakes for your Halloween snacks, you’ll be putting in a bit more effort initially. However, when it comes to decorating, you can let your kids go wild! Give them icing, candy eyeballs, sprinkles, and maybe even plastic Halloween-themed rings to place on top. Remember that these do not have to be perfect. They should be fun! Let them do the decorating while you sip a hot cup of apple cider.

Label Snacks 🏷️

If you have really gotten in the Halloween spirit, maybe your family has chosen to make extra special snacks that remind you of some Halloween monsters; Frankenstein Fingers? Ghostly Grapes? This calls for some creativity not just in the kitchen but on paper as well! Have your kiddos create labels for your snacks. They can write in a spooky font, add lines and other details, draw monsters; the options are only limited by their imaginations! And now, you have a cute addition to your snacks that will get some chuckles from your family and friends.
